FAQ - GENERAL QUESTIONS REGARDING ALL EXCURSIONS

 

How to make a reservation

 

You can both book sending an email to booking@sunland.it or booking on line.

Make reservation on line on www.amalficoastdailytrip.it by following these simple steps:

Step 1:

From the "Best Tours" menu, select the tour you want to join

Select the data you want to book

Select the number of adults and children in your party

Insert the promo code if you have one

Select additional services available if required (shuttle service to/from Amalfi)

Click on "Book It!"

Step 2 - Main Contact

Insert your personal information filling all the fields

Insert pick up time and place if you already know it (please see pick up times page) or leave blank fields and we will reconfirm it by email

Please always insert accommodation name in order to give you the right pick up point and time

Step 3 - Payment Option

You can pay by your PayPal account or by any credit card using PayPal service.

Step 4 - Cancellation policy

Please thick cancellation policy box to accept the conditions (compulsory)

Step 5 - Payment by PayPal

You will be automatically transferred on PayPal payment homepage, here you can choose to pay by your PayPal account or "Pay with a debit or credit card".

If you select "Pay with a debit or credit card", you can insert your credit card data and click on "PAY" to end the transaction.

Once done the payment you will receive a voucher on the email address provided. Please note the voucher must be printed and handed to the guide on the day of the tour.

 

 

FAQ - GENERAL QUESTIONS REGARING ALL EXCURSIONS

 

Are the daily collective tours always guaranteed?

Daily collective tours are not guaranteed, they require a min number of participants to depart.

You will be contacted at your hotel the day before the tour to reconfirm it. Generally, Sunland leave a message to your hotel reception, so please check for messages the day before the tour.

In case of cancellation, we generally offer alternative dates/tours or we fully refund the tour.

From where do your tour leave?

Main pick up point for all excursions is Amalfi.

Please be at the excursion pick up point 5 minutes before the coach is scheduled to depart.

For land excursions, we offer complimentary pick up for guests staying in Marmorata, Minori and Maiori. For those staying in Positano, Praiano and Ravello we offer shuttle service by minibus to reach the pick-up point in Amalfi, on supplement.

For sea excursions, we offer complimentary pick up for guests staying in Positano.

For those staying in Maiori, Minori, Marmorata, Ravello and Praiano we offer shuttle service by minibus to reach the pick-up point in Amalfi, on supplement.

Please note after main pick up point in Amalfi the bus will make other stops for pick up clients along the route.

In which language are operated your excursions?
All excursion are spoken in English. We operate some tours in more than one language (on request, French and German only available)

Are entrance fees included in the price?
We do not include any Entrance fees in our excursion prices in order to allow those who qualify for any of the various age concessions to take advantage of them. Clients from European Union & from all Nations, which have signed the Reciprocity Act, under 18 and over 65, are entitled to free admission to State archaeological sites and museums upon production of a valid identity document. From 18 to 25 years 50% discount on entrance fee. This rule does not apply to: Mount Vesuvius (Pompeii & Vesuvius tour) - Villa S. Michele (Capri & Anacapri tour) - Emerald Grotto (cruise to Positano tour)

By combining the historical sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum within three days of each other there is a discount on entrance fees - a special pass must be purchased at the first site.

Please note entrance fees prices are confirmed to 31.05.2014 and may change with no prior notice.

Do I have to pay any extra?
Unless noted otherwise our tours do not included lunch (except Vesuvius & Wine tour).
During free time, it is possible to have light lunch in local restaurants or to eat a packed lunch taken from home. Please note in some resort it is forbidden to eat the packed lunch along the street, so you will be asked to sit at a restaurant/bar table and purchase some drinks.
Your excursion guide may give recommendations of restaurants or boat trips etc. on the day.
These are purely optional and payable to the guide on the day. These extras are not on our responsibility for the value. Tips are not included.

Which is your cancellation policy?

For cancellations within 48hrs before the tour departure we will refund the full amount paid, for cancellations from 48 to 0 hours before the tour, or no show or reduction of tour forsake no refund is due.

 

FAQ - POMPEII & VESUVIUS TOUR

 

How long last the visit in Pompeii?

The tour inside the ruins generally takes 2 hours and ½ - 3 hours. The tour may vary according to the guide, but generally, all the must-see sites are included in the visit: the Forum, the public rooms, the macellum, via dell'Abbondanza, Lupanare, ancient buried bodies, terme, and some private house. We cannot guarantee any house visit since they are not always open. If you have any particular interest on some site, please let us know and we will do all the best to allow the visit on the day of your tour. Please note Casa dei Vetti is closed for restoration.

How works the visit to the Vesuvius?
The bus will take you until quote 1000. From here, you can have a nice walk up to the crater (20/30 min approx. each way). Once on the top of the crater you will find the Vulcano guides (included in the price of the entrance) which will give you all explanations about the area and the Vulcano, while looking at the beautiful view over the Gulf of Naples.

Do we have time for lunch?

Yes, you have. Our guide will give advice for a light lunch, but please feel free to go to have lunch anywhere do you prefer. Just agree with the guide a meeting time/point and be in time as a whole group cannot be standing waiting for you. You can also take your own packed lunch, but please be advised you will be asked to sit in a bar or restaurant and buy some drinks to eat it since it is forbidden to eat packed lunch inside the ruins on in the surrounding area.

Generally 1 hour and half, considering all pick up along the route, traffic permitting.

FAQ - POMPEII HALF DAY TOUR

 

How long last the visit in Pompeii?

The tour inside the ruins generally takes 2 hours and ½ - 3 hours. FAQ - POMPEII & VILLA DEI MISTERI TOUR

 

How long last the visit in the ruins?

The tour inside the ruins takes approx. 3 hours and ½ - 4 hours. You will visit the north section of the ruins, where are located some of the new-refurbished houses and public buildings. Please note you will not see the amphitheatre and /or the theatres. The tour will end with Villa dei Misteri visit, exiting via Villa dei Misteri exit. It is required to be good walkers.

Do we have time for lunch?

Yes, you have. Our guide will give advice for a light lunch, but please feel free to go to have lunch anywhere do you prefer. Just agree with the guide a meeting time/point and be in time as a whole group cannot be standing waiting for you. The tour inside the ruins generally takes 2 hours and ½ - 3 hours. The tour may vary according to the guide, but generally, all the must-see sites are included in the visit. If you have any particular interest on some site, please let us know and we will do all the best to allow the visit on the day of your tour. Please note Villa dei Papiri in Herculaneum is closed for restoration.

Do we have time for lunch?

Yes, you have, once arrived in Sorrento. Our guide will give advice for a light lunch, but please feel free to go to have lunch anywhere do you prefer. Just agree with the guide a meeting time/point and be in time as a whole group cannot be standing waiting for you. You can also take your own packed lunch, but please be advised you will be asked to sit in a bar or restaurant and buy some drinks to eat it.

Do we return via Amalfi Drive?

Yes, the return from Sorrento to Amalfi is via Amalfi Drive. There is also a panoramic stop over Positano.

How long does it take the journey by bus from Amalfi to Herculaneum?

Generally 1 hour and half, considering all pick up along the route, traffic permitting.

What time do we come back?

Expected return in Amalfi is 5.00 - 5.30 pm traffic permitting.

 

FAQ - PAESTUM TOUR

 

How long last the visit to the temples and the museum?

The tour inside the ruins generally takes 2 hours and ½ - 3 hours, 1 hour and half to see the temples, one hour to see the museum.

Do we have time for lunch?

Yes, you have. Our guide will give advice for a light lunch, but please feel free to go to have lunch anywhere do you prefer. Just agree with the guide a meeting time/point and be in time as a whole group cannot be standing waiting for you. You can also take your own packed lunch, but please be advised you will be asked to sit in a bar or restaurant and buy some drinks to eat it.

Can we taste / buy some mozzarella cheese?

Yes, you will visit of the best mozzarella factory in Campania Region and you are invited to a complimentary mozzarella cheese tasting. You can also buy some mozzarella or dairy products at the factory shop, including buffalo milk make up.

How long does it take the journey by bus from Amalfi to Paestum?

Generally 2 hours approx, considering all pick up along the route, traffic permitting.

What time do we come back?

Expected return in Amalfi is 4.30 - 5.00 pm traffic permitting.

 

FAQ - CRUISE TO POSITANO TOUR

 

How we will get to Positano?

You will be welcomed on a private motorboat, not too big so it can sail very close to the coast to let you discover all the best places along the route.

How long does the journey last?

The journey will take approx. 1 hour

Is it a guided tour?

Yes, you will have a guide for the whole tour.

Is the stop to the Emerald Grotto included?

Yes, we will stop to the Emerald Grotto, entrance fee is extra to be paid locally.

You will land on the grotto platform and go inside by a wood boat to see the beautiful grotto. The tour takes approx. 30 min.

How long do we stop in Positano?

Once landed in Positano you will have two hours free time.

 

FAQ - CAPRI & ANACAPRI TOUR

 

How we will get to Capri?

We will board on the jet from Amalfi, which is the fastest ferry to reach the island. The journey takes 1 hour only. During the season, according to sea conditions, it is possible sometimes to board on the ferry.

How do we travel around the island?

You will use private minibus, being always escorted by our professional guides.

Do we have time to do the chairlift to Monte Solaro

Yes, you can do it during your free time in Anacapri. Please note you can choose or the visist to Villa San Michele or the chairlift to Monte Solaro.

Do we have time for lunch?

Yes, you have. Our guide will give advice for a light lunch, but please feel free to go to have lunch anywhere do you prefer. Just agree with the guide a meeting time/point and be in time as a whole group cannot be standing waiting for you. You can also take your own packed lunch, but please be advised you will be asked to sit in a bar or restaurant and buy some drinks to eat it.

Is it possible to do the tour of the island or the visit to the blue grotto?

Yes, it is possible, but you will lose part of the guided tour to Capri town centre. If your interest is focused mainly on island tour and blue grotto, we suggest you to book our Capri select tour.

What time do we come back?

Expected return in Amalfi is 6.10 pm by jet departing from Capri at 5.15pm.

 

FAQ - CAPRI SELECT

 

How we will get to Capri?

You will be welcomed on a Sorrentine wood gozzo 11 mr leght, which can accommodate up to 12 passengers.

Does the crew speak English?

Yes, the crew speak fluent English

Can we stop for a swim along the route or in Capri?

Yes, you can stop for a swim in Capri or along the route on the journey back. Beach towels are included.

Do we have any refreshments on board?

Yes, you can have soft fresh drinks and beer (limited quantity)

Can we do the island tour and the visit to the Blue Grotto?

Yes, you can do the island tour by your boat. You can also stop for the visit to the Blue Grotto, small wood boat for entrance and entrance fee to be paid locally.

Can we book the Blue Grotto visit?

Unfortunately not. The only way to see the Blue Grotto is doing the queue. Please note the grotto may be closed according to sea/weather conditions.

Do we have a guided visit in Capri?

No. You just have the boat included in the price. You will land in Marina Grande and have 2 hours approx. free time to have lunch or to visit Capri town centre.

What time do we come back?

Expected return in Amalfi is 5.30 pm.

Careful planning goes into all tours to ensure that the relevant sites/museum are visited. If there are circumstances beyond our control e.g. adverse traffic conditions or weather conditions where part of an itinerary cannot be completed then no refund will be issued. Tour programs can be modified owing to cause beyond our control. The liability of the organizing agency cannot in any event be greater than what is provided by the act of law no. 1084 dated 27/12/1977 on which the excursions are based. The organizing agency declines liability for any additional expenses owing to delays, strikes, insurrection hostilities or illegality, God's acts and any acts of Authority.
